Many years ago, we began using the term World Tavern Poker Family because of how many wonderful friendships have been created at the tables. We have truly become a family.
With tens of thousands of players across the country, it's time for our family to "Give Back".
We have created World Tavern Poker Gives Back as a way to help those in need, and have chosen Homes for Our Troops as our main charitable organization partner.
How We Are Giving Back
Last Year at the World League Championships in Las Vegas, our poker family donated over $5,000! THANK YOU!
We used this money to purchase the pull down shelving for 5 Wounded Veteran's Homes right in markets where our World Tavern Poker family lives.
This year our goal is to donate the pull down shelving for 6 WOUNDED VETERANS in our markets! That's $10,000
and if every player donated just $1 we would double that!
Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) is a nonprofit organization building specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for the most severely injured Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Most of these Veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives.
Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar donated to Homes for Our Troops has gone directly to our program services for Veterans. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives
For each $1,000 we raise, we can purchase the pulldown shelving for Wounded Veteran's homes...right in our backyards.

In Las Vegas
During the World League Poker Championships and World Tavern Poker OPEN 21, our goal is to raise another $6,000 to help 6 more homes be built for local Wounded Veterans.
For your $10 Donation, you will receive a strip of raffle tickets towards a Las Vegas 2016 VIP Package (6 nights hotel & 2 tix) as well as a FREE photo experience print!
If every player attending Las Vegas donates just $10, we will exceed our goal. Now imagine if everyone donated just $20!
All Year Long
In the coming weeks, we will have an online donation site where you can donate all year long. Every dollar helps!
Volunteer Days
As each home nears completion, Homes for Our Troops hosts volunteer days to come out and help with the finishing touches. (light landscaping work)
Our goal is to come out in masses and show how World Tavern Poker gives back to our communities! We will be looking for "volunteer leaders" in each of these markets and each volunteer will receive a World Tavern Poker GIVES BACK t-shirt to remember how we have helped.
